Extruders - plastic extrusion
Plastic extruders are designed for continuous thermoplastic processing, producing items such as strips, tubes, rods, and profiles. They handle a variety of materials, including LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, PP, PS, and PVC, and can be seamlessly integrated into various production systems, including recycling and regranulation lines.
The VS extrusion machine is a device continuously supplied with solid thermoplastic in the form of granules, powder, or regrind from a hopper. At the feed throat, the thermoplastic is taken up by a rotating screw located within the barrel and transported to the die at the machine's outlet, which gives the extruded material the desired shape. As it passes through the heated chamber, the melt flow moves through several screw segments.
The screw performs a rotary motion, which causes the thermoplastic to move through the barrel while simultaneously, under the combined effect of heat and pressure, it gradually transitions into the liquid phase.
The barrel is cooled or tempered in individual heating zones, the number of which depends on the length of the barrel. Depending on the machine type, temperature control is implemented either via heating elements and fans or via complete ceramic blocks.
